The underwater environment and landscapes are very sensitive to human impact.
When snorkelling unaccompanied in the waters of the Parc Marin, in particular in the protected marine reserves, there are things you can do to help protect the local environment:
Avoid physical contact with the underwater flora and fauna and the substrate (be especially careful when wearing fins) and do not turn over any stones.
Do not walk on the sea bed if you can help it, above all in parts colonised by posidonia grass.
Avoid walking on certain rocky areas around the shore, for example the Lithophyllum footpaths and Cystoseira algae belts.
Never eat, disturb or do anything to attract underwater wildlife.
Notify staff at the Parc Marin if you see lost or abandoned fishing equipment (nets, main lines, baskets, etc.) at the site to reduce any impact on the sea bed.
Take all waste away with you including any left by people before you.
Carry a portable ashtray with you to collect cigarette butts.
