Pétanque Carryenne is Carry-le-Rouet's own petanque (boules) club, founded over 60 years ago. In the past, competitions were played at the Place du Marché and at Le Family building (since demolished).
No fewer than 10 presidents have passed on the torch to keep traditional boules games alive, both petanque and jeu provençal.
The current ground at Pétanque Carryenne was built in the seventies and the number of members has risen steadily over the years. The club has had the honour of hosting three times the French petanque champion teams in the veterans category and the winners of the prestigious La Marseillaise world petanque championship.
Today, the club is proud to have nearly 300 members and, for the past three years, a petanque school which was set up to pass on our passion for boules to the next generations.
After all, as the club motto says: "Here, petanque is more than a game, it's a religion!"
The local community looks forward to more friendly and nail-biting matches at its fantastic club in the village centre just moments from the Med.
