Every year, during the summer months of July and August, Parc Marin de la Côte Bleue organises guided snorkel tours of Carry-le-Rouet's very own marine reserve.
Sporting a snorkel and mask, participants will get to discover the rich diversity of the coastal sea beds and learn all about why it is so important that the Côte Bleue has been designated a marine conservation area (see brochure on shallow coastal areas).
Tours are organised three mornings a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Tuesday mornings are reserved for groups (from outdoor centres, leisure centres and such); Thursdays and Saturdays are reserved for the general public.
Three departures are scheduled each morning, at 9.30, 10.30 and 11.30 am. Tours last about an hour.
Tours are free and open to all visitors aged 8 and over (from last birthday). Children under 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult in the water and parental consent is required for children aged 12 to 18.
Tours must be booked in advance. To book, contact Carry-le-Rouet Tourist Information Office on +33 (0)4 42 13 20 36 from 15 June.
All equipment (wet suit, mask, snorkel) can be borrowed on site. Participants should bring aqua shoes.
Tours depart from the first-aid post at Cap Rousset beach in Carry-le-Rouet town.
All information and a map of where to find us can be found in the information brochure on the underwater trail (see brochure) and on the website www.parcmarincotebleue.fr, under 'Sensibilisation' (in French).
